LASIK eye surgery (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) - LASIK involves the use of an excimer laser to reshape the cornea to correct a patient’s vision error. By having LASIK you can reduce and sometimes eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses.
Before the LASIK surgery starts, topical anesthetic drops are used to numb the eyes to prevent any discomfort. Medication may also be approved to help the patient relax. After the drops are used, a lid speculum is used to keep the eyes from closing and a femtosecond laser creates a thin flap over the cornea. Some corneal tissue is removed using a specialized excimer laser. After the laser treatment the flap is then gently repositioned and eye drops are used to start the healing process.
When I finally decided to have Laser Vision Correction I wanted to go with someone I trusted and Doctor Melki was recommended to me as the best. I was very afraid of the whole process especially the surgery itself. In consultation Doctor Melki was informative, reassuring and put me completely at ease surrounding the entire procedure. He explained to me in great detail the entire process which left me with no hesitation whatsoever about my choice to have the operation. When I traveled from New York to Boston for my surgery, I was treated with the utmost professionalism and personal care that made the whole experience far less traumatic than I had feared. At no point during the procedure did I feel anything but complete confidence in Doctor Melki and his staff. I was made to feel completely taken care of post operation and was able to check I daily with Doctor Melki after I returned to New York. I can’t describe how wonderful it is to wake up every morning and be able to see. I want to thank Doctor Melki and Boston Laser for not only enhancing my life professionally and personally but also making the whole experience as trauma-free as they possibly could, especially for one as afraid as I was.
“I would like to highly recommend Dr. Melki and Boston laser to anyone and everyone considering laser vision correction”. - Dominique Bayes

With so many advertisements about LASIK price we can understand why patients may be confused. How can a Boston LASIK center offer $299 per eye for LASIK and another charge $3000 per eye? The answer is simple; $299 is a means to attract patients to the office. The criteria for someone to meet in order to qualify for the $299 per eye pricing is probably less than 1% of the population and the cost typically utilizes technology which is now considered out of date. The intention of the $299 price is to capture your attention and draw you in into the office. Typically these LASIK centers will recommend upgrades based on your eye prescription and technology recommended for your vision needs. In a sense these centers often tout “matching the technology to the patient” when in fact they are often matching the patient’s budget to the technology. At Boston Laser we will provide you with the best possible LASIK surgery and promise to deliver a stress free surgical process with no gimmicks. Call us today if you would like understand how we can make LASIK affordable for you.
